About Event

The Ancient art of Gu Quan

The Trinity System is built upon a foundation of nine essential exercises known as Jiu Gong. These practices inlcude:

  • Xin Yi Ba (Heart-Intent Grasp)

  • Pan Gen (Root Coiling)

  • Zhan Zhuang Gong (Standing Stake Skill)

  • Dun Hou Shi (Crouching Monkey Form)

  • Bao Dan Tian (Embracing the Dan Tian)

  • Bai Yuan Xian Tao (White Ape Offers Peach)

  • Zha Dan Tian (Exploding the Dan Tian)

  • Si Shao Qi (Four Tips Unified)

  • San Ti Hou Shi (Three-Body Monkey Form)

This sophisticated neigong (internal skill) set is unique among moving exercises. Unlike the Liuhe Gong, which requires movement while walking, the Jiu Gong is performed stationary, with dynamic waist turns from side to side. The Kua (the hip fold area near the waist) becomes the axis of movement, generating energy as it spirals. The exercises emphasize control and power from the central channel, fostering spiral force, central connectivity, and rolling energy.

Health and Energy Circulation

The primary purpose of this practice is to enhance health by directing and circulating qi through the body’s meridian channels. Its techniques include coordinated breathing and whole-body movements designed to align internal and external systems. As a result, it develops physical harmony, resilience, and martial efficiency.

Strengthening the Central Nervous System

The practice is said to fortify the body’s Central Nervous System, employing silk reeling energy similar to Taiji Quan. Through the controlled rotation of the Dan Tian, practitioners learn to move fluidly and powerfully. Arms follow the body’s momentum, adhering to the Tai Ji Quan Classics principle:

“Rooted in the feet, developed by the legs, directed by the waist, transferred through the back, and expressed in the hands.”

The Trinity System’s Martial Philosophy

In the martial context, the Trinity System (Hou Xing Xin Yi Ba, Monkey Form Xin Yi Ba) embodies a duality: its form is the structured movements, and its formlessness is the internal power that animates them. Without internal power (Qi Li), even the most refined structure is ineffective. Strength arises from a full reserve of Qi energy, which is the root of martial capability.

Internal and External Development

To achieve mastery, one must:

• Train the Qi internally.

• Refine the techniques externally.

The synergy of internal energy and external skill is key to success. Strengthening the Dan Tian is paramount, as it is the seat of Original Yang Qi and the repository of energy and power.

The Role of the Dan Tian

The Dan Tian is the root of vitality. Without a strong Dan Tian, Qi will be insufficient, and the resulting power will lack force. The sequence for progression is clear: strengthen the Dan Tian through consistent practice of techniques. Only by cultivating both energy and skill can a practitioner achieve mastery.

The Jiu Gong encapsulates the essence of ancient wisdom, providing a complete system for health, energy cultivation, and martial prowess. Through diligent practice, one unlocks the transformative power of Gu Quan: The Trinity System.
